Mirror Mirror On the Wall… Celebrating Womanhood #SelfLoveChallenge

Having had plenty of time to think about this. I challenged myself to spend the last two weeks trying to up my game in loving myself. I just don’t. I have no love or passion for who I am. I adore doing what I do, I love making people smile but making myself smile? Not happening lately. My bipolar crap has been out of control lately and I am not sure if it is the solar storms, or if someone laid a blood red egg but Kriss is WHACK! Considering I am one of the hosts, this is not exactly a good thing!

I guess if I want to get there some day I should start the process again… no wait, I am going to start today, which means starting with the basics.

To recap the challenge this is what is suppose to happen here:

For one day, we want to drown out negativity and celebrate the beauty and pride of women.

These days it seems that some people want us to be ashamed of being women. They want us to believe that we’re less: less intelligent, less important, less human. There is so much negativity out there. For one day, we want to flood the internet with positive messages about women.

For the past two years, we’ve let you get away with shining the spotlight on another woman. This year, it’s all about YOU. As women, we often have trouble putting ourselves front and center. We’re not important, not pretty, not smart, not talented. Just not enough.

But that is SO not true, and we challenge you to break through that barrier. Join the #selflovechallenge on September 16, and share three positive things about yourself. If you don’t have a blog, share on Facebook, Twitter, a favorite email loop (as long as they don’t mind off-topic messages), or just write it on a Post-it note and put it on your bathroom mirror.

Men can participate, too, but we really want women to embrace this. You are amazing, and it’s time you owned it!

Your three things can be just one comment each, or you can give background or elaborate in some way. The positive things can be anything: a physical trait, a talent, a facet of your personality, or anything else you can think of.

The only rule is that you can’t add any qualifiers.

YES = I have beautiful eyes.
YES = I get a lot of compliments on my eyes.
NO = I have pretty eyes. At least that’s what people tell me.
NO = I guess I have pretty eyes, but no one can tell because of these stupid glasses.

Three Things I Love About Myself

tank-girl-0012I love my eccentricities. I love how it allows me to express myself in any fashion I see fit, how by embracing it I can see the world through many different colored lenses and yet be OK with the occasional wearing of rose colored ones. No one can take this from me. It has shaped me into who I am today, and I like it!

Best thing about being eccentric? Your weirdness is embraced and considered an asset!

2©2014 Kriss MortonI love my vision and creativity. This goes with what I love doing, which is creating. Every post I do I am usually spending a couple hours a day just making it pretty with graphics. I love making graphics for Lady Reader Blog Tours and I like being asked by authors to help create things for their promotions, or their covers ..

I like how my brain works within the parameters of creativity. I like how I can just come up wtih something fantastic to do with promotion and marketing and bam, it still blows me away. I love being told this too. It makes me all warm and squishy!

I just love having this ability to truly be a good artist! Thanks for everyone who has helped me love this about myself. Big squishy bacon and goat loving hugs! xoxoxox0

3Lastly? I really like how awesome of a cook I am. I love how I can create something out of nothing at times and others how I can take the most complex of flavors and combine them into epic #nomnom’ness. Today I created an amazing new relish for our my turkey dog, with just four ingredients!

What three things do you like about you!

  1. I love these things about you as well and then some 🙂

  2. I understand how life and other things can get in the way, but these things you’ve listed – and more (such as your loyalty to your friends) – are what we love about you! I know you have a lot going on right now, but if this is what it takes to make you see positive things about yourself, then I’m glad I dragged you along.

  3. that is neat how you do it and then a lot of popele who i do now and talk to them all the time do not knwome
