#Blogflash2013 “dreaming of #bacon delights” (health)

21 days, 21 one prompts, an infinite amount of ideas..

I beat myself up

dreaming of bacon delights

my celery blows

(haiku #5)

Fiber filled muffins, a spoonful of….shuddering…..splenda, my blue cheese dressing taunting me from its lonely corner of the fridge as I reach in to grab a carrot stick. I love my bacon, and as much as I talk about it, I do not mainline it like smack. Bacon is savory and I can have one or two slices of nitrate free bacon, wrapped in a dark green lettuce leaf (because dark veggies are the best for you to maintain a healthy heart)… tomato slices, avocado and drizzled with a touch of olive oil and fresh ground pepper… BAM! A bread free BLT. It is like a spice, but better and its meat…and it is sexy ok ummm you get my meaning!

Health has several factors and my blood pressure after my cardiac event in the fall i s something I pay attention too. I am getting great results now that I smile more, take life less seriously, and … I limit those things which some folks completely cut out. Sometimes I have to eat a carrot because on Saturday I plan to eat cake along with a BLT, with bread and lots of homemade mayo!

As close I get to eating an EPIC meal is watching it… but a girl can dream!

What food do you have a hankering for that is not considered healthy?

  1. Kriss, your bread free BLT looks yummy 🙂 Now I want a tomato that actually tastes like a tomato – you know the wonderful summer kind grown in the backyard…

  2. Approaches to health and diets and all that ‘we hate it but it’s good for you” stuff should be lenient! Strangely, if we know we could cheat when we really want to, we tend to cheat less often… Plus, food is intended to be enjoyed!

  3. Since when did food become the evil monster in society. Surely a little of what we fancy is OK?

  4. I think it’s all about balance. Like in (almost) everything else in life. I don’t think you have to cut everything out, just keep it balanced… Even bacon. 🙂

  5. My son absolutely loves bacon. He has a group of friends that go on bacon campouts–they have bacon-wrapped hamburgers, bacon omelets, bacon quesadillas, and of course, bacon by itself. It’s a religious experience for them. 🙂

  6. Celery is better wrapped in bacon. LOL I don’t indulge in bacon often because I find the package so huge! I shouldn’t eat all of that, but I will if I fry it. They need to make 1/4lb bacon packs.
