21 days, 21 one prompts, an infinite amount of ideas..

“order me kung pao”

(haiku #2)

Where would we be today without technology. What would happen if we lost it, how many people would sit down and collapse and feel adrift. I am attached to my iPhone, it has photos, calendars, my e-mail, my bill payment schedules, everything, even my store cards and coupons. I do not even need my wallet on me anymore.

This year Revolution came out and though I am behind in watching it, the show made me think. What if? How quickly would we fall apart? Many books have explored this question, and many answers have been found, but one single one that stands out is we would all be lost. Better learn how to use a needle and thread and perhaps cook your own Kung Poa from the chicken you just killed from your yard. Because one day we may have to face this.

What could you not live without?

#BlogFlash2013 "order me kung pao" (technology)#BlogFlash2013 (March 2013): 21 Days of Flash Blogging

~ Starts March 1st, ends March 29. The challenge is to write a 50-100 word post for each daily prompt (weekdays only). The post can be factual, prose or poetry, anecdotal or otherwise. I will be checking at least five blogs a day to read everyone else’s.  This is the second time this has happened and I am challenging myself to do a Haiku each prompt plus a bit more! Do you like to do flash fiction? Join in!

  1. Awesome haiku! It is a good question if people can go back to the basics and the way our ancestors lived before all the cool toys we have today. It helps when your parents pass it on to you!

  2. Love your Haiku Kriss. I can’t do them well at all. I over think it!
I’d be lost for a while without all of my “stuff” but I do like horseback riding and camping and such. I’d probably survive okay!
Just thinking about it scares me A Lot!!!

  3. I just hope I wouldn’t run into that bear up there! lol

  4. Thoughts going in that direction remind me of books such as the Hatchet and Lord of the Flies. If for some reason all technology disappeared, people would figure out a way to survive, and eventually to recreate the most necessary tools.

  5. This was definitely the appeal of Revolution for me (although we stopped watching it). I just think of how much of our world economic structure is tied up in technology – I never have cash on me anymore! I would be utterly lost if the power went out because I don’t know how to do anything!

  6. I like it 🙂

    • awwww thanks!

  7. I was without my cell for a few days last year and it made me realize how much I rely on it for so many things! Great post, Kriss!
