I am really excited to have not only a review for Ash’s Fire today for Callie Gold’s book. Callie and I met because of a lone Facebook status and I ended up designing her cover and helping her learn the ropes in this vast sea of self-pubs. The book is a twisting, turning romantic mystery with a subject matter many American’s won’t touch… monogamy. Callie also gave me a vignette to share. Also the book has been on sale all month-long and this is the last week. I promise you it is worth the 99¢! It is going to go back to its regular price this next weekend!

Honoring Veteran’s Day

I am really excited to be posting a piece from Irish Winters today. You may remember the wonderful article on PTSD I posted during her Harely tour. The series’ characters are soldiers and Irish is very much involved in the support of veterans and active duty soldiers. In doing so she also had an oppurtunity to visit the Middle East Conflicts Memorial in October of this year, 2014. We have lost so many soldiers to these conflicts. As a former military wife I have lost many friends and others who are living with missing limbs. In fact one of my closest friends from when I was a wife, her husband lost his leg. He still is serving proudly.

Discussing PTSD with @IrishWinters1: “Harley”, is fictional, #PTSD is not…

When Amy from Lady Reader’s Bookstuff tours said, “Hey you, I have this great guest post on PTSD from Irish, want to post it on Cabin Goddess?” Silly wench, did she really need to ask? As a PTSD survivor, a former military wife who has experienced and helped so many soldiers through their own hell, I know first hand just how serious of a subject this is. PTSD is not just for soldiers, but I since I usually am talking about just that, how about we focus back on the soldiers, especially since we will be sending troups to Africa soon. Granted it is for helping deal with the Ebola outbreak but still…

Welcome to the last week of hardcore baking time before the fat man cometh! Mama’s Kitchen Mondays has a special treat! I have a special guest who wrote this lovely little Novelette, Christmas at the Gingerbread Cafe, a sweet and savory contemporary romance. When I saw this I thought how fun to do a review for my recipe feature! After reading the story I knew exactly what recipe I was going to do! Heck they even make almost the same one in the story. On Christmas, heck anytime between fall and the new year, I love Gingerbread coffee. My grandmother introduced it to me and this is a holiday season tradition you will find in my fridge!
