Bloody Betty-Jo | Moonshine Bloody Mary
Even if zombies are roaming outside the encampment you will probably have moonshine. Who knows, you could find some tomato soup and make something special one night. But till then, try this recipe!
  • 3 cups V8 juice (or Tomato juice, but I try to keep my alcohol intake healthy)
  • 3 TBLS lemon juice
  • 3 TBLS lime juice
  • 1 TBLS prepared horseradish
  • 2 TBLS Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1½ tsp Tabasco™
  • 1 tsp Old Bay™ Seasoning
  • 1 ounce of Ole Smoke™ Original Moonshine
  • additional cracked pepper for the rim of the glass (mix with a bit of Old Bay™
  1. In a blender combine the tomato juice, lemon juice, lime juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and hot sauce and process until smooth. Transfer to a nonreactive container and add salt and black pepper, to taste. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
  2. When ready to serve, run the edge of your mason jar (or glass) in a smell bit of lemon and lime juice and dip it in cracked pepper with a touch of salt (to taste), or fill each glass with ice.
  3. Add 1 ounce of Moonshine to each glass, then fill the glass with the bloody mary mix. Stir well, garnish each glass with whatever you feel like. I like an extra crisp garlic pickle wedge, or a couple of pearl onions and olives.
Crisp peppered bacon slices (if you want to have it Cabin Goddess Style). Personally I love it this way! Moonshine and all maybe on the side (since savory tastes do not go well with corn based hooch).
