The Glory of Kale: It’s not just for salad bars #MentalHealth’y Eating #Recipe

KaleI have fallen in love with kale. Before you go, “Oh no! She has gone down the rabbit hole never to consume bacon again!”, far from it. Especially since bacon, the nitrate-free kind is still on the table. In fact, this recipe includes it. My new website is temporarily on hold till we work out some kinks but I am still planning on posting Mental Healthy Recipes here! This is definitely one!

red ribbon alphabetYesterday was rough, I was stuck working with a client’s project and instead of getting to join my cabin mates I was cranking out copy and cool graphics instead of word counts on my Camp NaNoWhineMo NaNoWriMo work. If I was to tally up said word count on my client’s copy and the rest I did (oh wait I did tally it up I cranked out 4,392 words today (counting this post since I re-calculated it after collecting my thoughts for you.

All (Pet’s) Asrielle Wants For Christmas…

All Pet’s Want for Christmas Blog Hop and Giveaway

Sponsored by Vickie Johnstone (author of The Kiwi Series and 3 Heads and A Tail) and David M. Brown (author of Man vs. Cat)

Seriously, yes, this is it pretty easy, in fact I am sure they have taken the  hint is when I sit on top stair rung waiting for a victim I can reach that is  stupid inclined to stand under the stairs just to give me some target practice (believe me this happens more than I thought possible with these ridiculous  HOOOMans!)  all this gorgeous cat wants for Christmas is a new Tower of Doom… This stairs baiting is for the birds… oh look a bird…

Some cats go for comfort…

Some can be appeased with quick, cheap and easy (they also settle for the ‘nip cut with grass, go figure)

Other’s will settle for the redneck version

(fun while it lasts, which would not be for long here despite the duct tape)

And others, like me needs utilitarian, easy to reach, high access for the quick kill and removal of all who offend..

The Ultimate Tower of Doom

Being Healthy May Be Your Best Weapon in the End (Wordless Wednesday)

Nowhere does it say that just because the horde is at the door you do not need to not be ready to be healthy.  This is a baby head of Romaine, well the core of a VERY healthy head of lettuce that fell off my plate this week and landed JUST exactly like this.

How could I not see it as a sign! Eat healthy now, or be fast food for the horde later… your choice.

This Zombie Apocalypse Survivors Propaganda message brought to you today by Wordless Wednesday.

The Becoming – a tale of the survivors amidst the outbreak

In honor of Zombie Week the Cabin Goddess and Innovative Online Book Tours Present:

EXCERPT:

Brandt Evans’s scuffed black combat boots struck the wet pavement heavily as he ran down the rain-dampened street. His heart hammered wildly against his ribs, as if it were trying to beat free from his chest. His breathing was loud and harsh. His hands sweated and shook uncontrollably. His whole body was on edge.

He had been running for over half an hour.
