Today is a special Fourth-Wall Friday as I am hosting one of my favorite authors, Christine Amsden with her series tour with Goddess Fish. I am in love with her latest series, the Cassie Scot series, which starts with Cassie Scot,
ParaNormal Detecive (see my review here). I have been honored to be able to interview her last fall on Bewitching Talk Radio. (If you are intersted in the Blog Talk Radio interview, check out my post HERE). She is a rising star, if not already risen *grin* sorry little vampire humor, and this new adult series is really setting her apart. Don’t let the covers fool you, this one packs a punch, the vampires do not sparkle and her protagonist is one of those you will easily be enamored with… but I am rambling! Let’s get to some Fourth-Wall Friday magic, it’s early Friday morning and Diner food sounds delicious, looks like my magical Fourth-Wall machine has put Christine and I in the perfect place for that. I wonder if they give 3 or 4 slices of bacon for each side order *grabbing a menu*. Oh and leave a comment for the author, there is a $50 special commentar giveaway with this!
I am excited to be able to not only post this review but invite all of you to my interview with the author Friday at 6:30PM Friday! For those of you who are unaware, I am the official Bewitching Talk Radio BJ (snort.. blog jokey muwahhahaha.. sorry I could not resist!)
I fan-girled my silly butt off with award winning author Christine Amsden tonight on Bewitching Talk Radio. We discuss the dangers of first time authors writing in first person point of view, omniscient point of view and flash backs (my big mistake) along with her second novel Cassie Scot
ParaNormal Detective, the first in a six book series. The second one is due out November 15th and you can learn more about that news listening to the 30ish minute interview now! Sit back and enjoy and find out just what kind of meal she says Cassie Scot and her first book, Immortality Virus are.. yes, I asked the question!
Happy Va-Jay-Jay Coffee
I recently discovered this new coffee that folks have been seeing me go on and on about it. I won’t go and tell you exactly just what body parts it makes me happy but it does give me a complete body-gasm. But I am always willing to try others and I had not had a good cup of coffee in San Francisco in a while and since it was Friday I decided to take advantage of of my Fourth-Wall machine and flash on down for some delicious caffeinated goodness. I opened my eyes and saw a bright red can of Coke and a woman with one eyebrow raised looking at me as I clutched the carabinger with my dinged up travel mug swinging.
“Hey, I need coffee!” I said defensively
“So does my husband. Me? Just give me Coke, and I am happy.. or a glass of wine.” she said with a crooked smile.
I glanced over and saw a good looking man with sun streaked hair with a glow about him. Something seemed familiar about him, maybe he was on one of those new paranormal shows? I needed coffee but the line was moving to slow and I was being distracted by his odd behavior. He was writing a note out in very controlled strokes and looking like he was trying to hard.
“Thulu, she is going to have to believe it is from us, if you make it look to perfect she won’t buy it!“
Ohhhhh man I jumped right into this weeks Fourth-Wall Friday and I was getting first peek at Maer Wilson’s Private Investigating Team La Fi and Thulu… Oh gosh, I think Maer is going to need more than one glass of wine when she sees the note!
*pssssssssssssssssssssst — Just in case this is all a dream, Maer wants to make sure you guys know she created these guys and is giving away copies of the short story, Ghost Memory to two folks and to one lucky person the full novel Relics and the short Ghost Memory of The Thulukan Chronicles. Enter the Rafflecopter below, and make sure you answer the comment entry, this is a FUN one!*
The Impossible Thulukans
The invitation was impossible on all levels. Impossible to have received. Impossible to ignore. Someone’s idea of a joke? A brief note, with an address in San Francisco and a round trip plane ticket from Las Vegas.
Hello Philippa Ballantine! Thank you for taking the time to interview with me. I have a somewhat Cabin Goddess standard I change up a bit for each author, but the main jist is here. I hope you enjoy answering these, as they can be quite fun if you want them to be!
I tried to create something that fit with my blog and readers and also allowing you to express yourself and your book in a non-traditional way, if you choose to go that route. In other words, my blog is fun, so have fun yourself!
I interviewed Pip last Friday on Bewitching Talk Radio and had a ball! I am in love with the series thus far, as I am just starting with the first of the four books in The Book of the Order series. How about turning that on as you read here Cabin Goddess

Before she can save the world Sorcha faces her past, her heritage & the people she loves #supernatural #fantasy by @PhilippaJane #Harbinger
CG – Introduce yourself to the captive audience that you now have before you. (As in tell us something NOT in your bio, give us a dirty little secret not having or having to do with your writing)
PB – Though I am from New Zealand, I am not in Lord of the Rings, or the Hobbit. I feel this is a real failing, since so many of my friends were involved. It’s my own fault really; I didn’t imagine the movies would do so well so I didn’t try out! Happy to have been proven wrong though!
However, I do write fantasy and steampunk, so I feel I am in the neighbourhood of Tolkien which is hopefully enough for my fellow New Zealanders!
CG – Is there a genre, other than the one you currently write in, that you wish you could break into? Wanna play? Gimme a flash fiction in that genre!
I am kicking back today with a Cabin Goddess Bacon Bloody Mary, a bag of Lindt Truffles & the ManBeast tethered to his gaming console to give me time to read in peace. I recently featured three great ladies in their Dog Days of Summer Sale and featured both Ann Charles, Terri Giuliano Long as well as Rachel Thompson, (to follow). I had a blast on the radio show with them and really am glad I know these three great ladies.
*swirling my drink with a green bean wrapped in crisp bacon* I ended up getting a lovely flu and decided that vodka, bacon and a nice plateful of home-fries will be the cure that ails me this morning. Later I will be found hiding with my Kindle giggling as I spend at least an hour reading selections from The Mancode: Exposed while sitting on my pity pot!
This is one of those great books you can pick up and turn to a page and just start reading. It is full of a great collection of essays and is one I think we all need to have in our arsenal! I keep coming across things that make me laugh so hard enough I start snorting, and if anyone has talked to me live, once I start snorting there is no stopping me! SO check out my post HERE and grab Rachel’s book or any and all of the THREE books by THREE fabulous ladies. You may have missed the sale, but that does not mean I won’t be yodeling from the top of the mountain tops to state “BUY THESE BOOKS!”
(Make sure you check out The Indie Exchanges Blog Talk Radio SHOW SPECIAL & Spreecast on Rachel’s channel. OMG it was the Charlies Angels on Literary Crack for the WIN! I will embed the shows below but now? Let’s talk about snark!)
