Just in time to read in front of the fire with a cup of cocoa or your favorite hot beverage, J. J. Lyon’s fun private investigator mystery, with a twist, TRUTH is RELATIVE; the first in the A Truth Inducer Mystery series is here. A giveaway, great posts, reviews and best of all? Fun! My post today is pretty fun. I am really hooked at authors sending me their Top Ten Comfort Food lists. I have really had fun creating new recipes, adapting others and digging out old classics. Today’s was inspired when I re-read the first line in this book; “The Monday before Thanksgiving, my car disappeared… ” and by my theme of comfort foods and vices while writing. The book is in my TBR but before I posted I read a the first couple chapters and can tell you right now I am going to love the read if it continues in this manner. Thanks J. J. Lyon!

A Dinner Party with @GaryLHelm, author of Sometimes in Dreams #FourthWallFriday

Posted by on Sep 26, 2014 in Authors, Books, Featured Posts, Fourth-Wall Friday | 2 comments

I’m really excited! Check out the #FourthWallFriday from @Sirens_Call Publications author @GaryLHelm! Julianne Snow, a long time Twitter friend and one of the peeps over at the pub house, saw I had opened up the last six months of 2014 for Fourth-Wall Friday and decided hmmmmm…. and she JUMPED in and signed a bunch of her authors up! I was oh so happy, especially since I had cornered her and she is going to be doing the Halloween special this year! Today I have G. L. Helm and this is great because I am kind of hungry! Now that the cold is winding down, I want to eat more then soup!

I would like to raise a martini right now but you will have to settle for my hot toddy. My toothpocalypse has been postponed till next week or when I am no longer sick. Yes, this is my life. UGH! The day I am set to go in for my oral surgery, I wake up at 2AM sicker than a dog, but ignore me,  today is all about C.E. Hansen and her new book! I had her on for her blast and today I am hosting Cynthia Hansen and we are going to do a bit of “THIS or THAT” and I am going to give you a mini review of the book.

Isis-Vampires-and-Ghost-Oh-My-Button-300-x-225This week I am having a ball with recipes and reviews and digging in and finding out the comfort foods from each of the wonderful authors I have been honored to have on my blog. A bit different than my normal Banned Book Week but hey! Today’s comfort food was my challenge until I looked up a recipe online and realized this was what I used to make all the time in New England.

The-Haunting-of-Secrets-ButtonFirst I want to apologize for this being late to both the author and Bewitching Tours. I am dealing with the Toothapocalypse 2014 and basically have been in bed since Thursday morning. I have surgery Tuesday and so I am getting this up asap plus a couple others just in case I am out of it afterwards.

Discussing PTSD with @IrishWinters1: “Harley”, is fictional, #PTSD is not…

Posted by on Sep 17, 2014 in Books, Featured Posts, Giveaways & Contests, Guest Posts, Lady Reader's Book Stuff | 3 comments

When Amy from Lady Reader’s Bookstuff tours said, “Hey you, I have this great guest post on PTSD from Irish, want to post it on Cabin Goddess?” Silly wench, did she really need to ask? As a PTSD survivor, a former military wife who has experienced and helped so many soldiers through their own hell, I know first hand just how serious of a subject this is. PTSD is not just for soldiers, but I since I usually am talking about just that, how about we focus back on the soldiers, especially since we will be sending troups to Africa soon. Granted it is for helping deal with the Ebola outbreak but still…
