#DIY Large Crowd Cooking – #HowTo Peel 10 lbs. of Potatoes in 50-seconds

Keep your man feeling macho no matter what kitchen duty is on his honey-do list!

potato-saladDespite the fact that potato peels have nutritional and taste value, I think the reason I rarely peel potatoes especially when I have a huge pot of mash to make is because of the time and the mess involved. It is pain, right? Well that and I am lazy, I want it done and I want it done fast and if I don’t have to do it.. especially when cooking for the masses? Especially here at the cabin. I will usually have a bunch of stuff going on. Your cooking partners you have bribed recruited into helping hate peeling potatoes. There is a reason why so many people have made it the punishment chore! have an electric or a cordless drill, I know I have one!

  • 10 lb bag of potatoes *not cooked (which is shown here but I am betting you could easily do a 20 lb bag).
  • Power drill brush. They use the to scrub machines etc. but you could make it yourself with a brand new toilet brush just to freak your friends out, personally just order this kit because it also includes what you need next. You can also get it at Amazon from the same company as the link above.
  • Drill Bit Shaft Extension Rod - You should only need a 12″ but if you want a longer one, 24″ is as long as I would go. Since the kit above is under $30, I would go with that, price wise seems to be the best. Lowes and Home Depot probably have it all!

Easy-peasy Potato Salad, heck! We love potato salad in this house and next Friday it is a staple for the holiday here in America!

  1. forgive me for being dumb.. but HOW do you implement this tool to make it peel potatoes? Are those bristles going to peel them before they are cooked or after? Are they that sharp? Inquiring minds want to know!
    ;-)

    • The bristles can clean the inside of a machine and the parts, it will clean the peels RIGHT away, and no these are not cooked!

      • Thank you Kriss for the details. Much appreciated. I can now get the visual on it. Would be great for larger mouth jars too.
