E is for Excitement #atozchallenge Fourth-Wall Friday

E is for Elephants, Espresso and Executions…

and Excitement!

Ohhh Kenny! *scratching behind his ears* Thank you for  being here with me to not only share you and your writer’s Fourth-Wall Friday but also to share my letter “E” day for my A to Z challenge  Well you won’t find bad people here at the Cabin, unless you consider cats part of the bad person variety. Me? I love cats, dogs and all of you guys. You are always there when we humans need you! You are a hero, Kenny! Thank you for being so EXCITED on my blog today! …. ASRIELLE stop sneaking up on him.. oh Kenny? Squirrels are bad people aren’t they?

Whoa! New friends! I love new friends! New friends are the best! Unless you’re bad new friends. Are you bad? I will warn you: I can smell bad people.

The Unsung Hero

Me: Kenny! Get down! Kenny, down! Stay! Good dog, Kenny. These are nice people. Now, do you want to go for a walk?

Kenny: WALK!?

Me: Come on.

The German Shepherd and I walk the manicured lawns of Waterford Mansion, stopping at every bush and tree, enjoying a beautiful sunny fall day.

Kenny: Are you sure these are good new friends? Many of the people that you bring around here are not that nice to my pack. Sister doesn’t like you most of the time. She has some pretty bad things to say about you when you’re not around.

Me: Yes, I know. Tamara hasn’t liked me much in quite a while. But you know what?

Kenny: It is treat time?

Me: No, not yet. I was going to say that you are the very best dog in the whole world. You, Kenny, keep Tamara sane and give her something to come home to every night. You listen to Tamara when she needs someone to listen to and she can talk all her frustrations out so that she’ll talk to me when I need her to. That’s why I gave her you. I knew that you would take very good care good of her.

Kenny: But Master and Missus took care of her when she was just a pup, and you took them away. And Brother. I miss them.

Me: Well, yes I did.

Kenny: Sister didn’t like that much.

Me: I know. Neither did you. I know you miss Tamara’s parents and Ryan. But you and Tamara still have each other. And you learned to get along with Paul, Tim, and Edmund.

Kenny: Yes. I like New Master, New Brother, and New Old Master.

Me: And you like her best friend. You wouldn’t have been able to meet Daniel if you were still living with your Master and Missus.

Kenny: Daniel?! Daniel is here? Where is he?!

Me: He’s not here, not yet. But he’ll be here a lot, I promise.

Kenny: Hey! I found a stick! Mflwughw. Ohmnomnom.

Me: Kenny, drop the stick! Good boy. So, you and Tamara have been here for a few years now. Do you still like the big house?

Kenny: Oh yes. New Old Master and New Brother play with me a lot, just not when New Brother and New Master are gone at night. We play ball. I love ball. But I really love this stick right now. Throw the stick! Please throw the stick. I’ll bring it back! I used to play with Sister when she wasn’t gone at night, but you took her away like Master and Missus and Brother.

Me: No. She’s not dead. She just went to college.

Kenny: What’s college? Are there balls? Why couldn’t I go with her?

Me: Do you remember obedience school when you were a puppy?

Kenny: Yes. I didn’t like it much. And she went with me.

Me: It’s like that, except you can’t go with her. Don’t worry. She’ll be back.

Kenny: When? When will she be back?

Me: She’ll be back just before the snow comes this winter. But you know what?

Kenny: It’s time for a treat?

Me: Sure. Here’s a cookie. But you know what else? Tamara is going to need you a lot more this time. There is going to be a man coming by that is going to try and hurt her and she is going to need you to be strong, okay? She will need you to be there and she’ll need you to want belly rubs, and to play ball, and to be brushed and brushed and brushed. And most of all, she’s going to need you to… Seriously, Kenny, have you gotten MORE fur since I saw you last? It’s all over me!

Kenny: Here, let me pick the stick up for you so you don’t have to bend down. Mflwogslgo.

Me: Okay, but just a few times. You’re a good boy, Kenny. Now, go fetch!

Flash (My Life as a Superhero)

Flash R.M. Strong

Tamara is all grown up and moved out. Her archenemy has truly rehabilitated and they now enjoy a cordial relationship. With Kristin filling Karis’ boots in Kingston, Tamara enjoyed an uneventful first semester of college. But moving to St. Lawrence comes with a new identity and a new cast of villains to upset her semi-normal life: Adish, a mutant who can control fire; Apoctopus, a radioactive octopus; and David Fox, a man looking for revenge.

While her life as a superhero goes smoothly, Tamara’s personal life spins into turmoil. Her reputation is in constant danger and, for the first time since she witnessed her family murdered, she finds herself facing problems she cannot fight her way out of. The biggest wrench in her far-from-normal life, however, comes from her very best friend.

Fourth-Wall Friday

Ever wonder what happens if you were to break into your world build and sit down and have a beer with? I think I would love to have tea with Jane Eyre, or discuss the best way to take care of vampires with Jane Yellowstone…maybe having Susie Shotgun take me out for some Angels Tears.

Interested in being part of Cabin Goddess’ Fourth-Wall Friday? I will soon be opening up my schedule from July through Christmas and have a few limited reserved Friday’s for special Fourth-Wall Friday spots (Sign ups for July – December 2013), such as book releases and tours. Contact me at [email protected] for more info. I hope everyone (authors and readers alike) takes time peruse the archives and find out just what other authors have done and enjoy a lot of amazing world builds!

Fourth-Wall FridayAllow yourself as an author to open up a new avenue of sharing your AUTHOR PERSONA & WORLD BUILD in a unique and creative fashion.. Just take a chance, write fluidly and from within that “place” you hangout at with your muse. Or perhaps walk in the door, tuck into a corner & watch your characters, or talk with them…

For the rest of this month I will be blogging with the single prompt, the prompt of a letter. Each day (except for Sundays) I will be using A to Z and all of the letters in between  I will talk about my Camp NaNoWriMo project. It is a great prompt challenge.  I will be using it for reviews, interviews, recipes and even rants, and you know I am good at rants!!

Join with me and pick a group of 5 to hop through from the #atozchallenge blog list & check out the almost 2000 blogs participating HERE. Oh… and show me some comment love too! I can admit I am a comment whore, it makes me feel really good when folks tell me they like my post!

  1. I like Kenny. Reading the blurb for the book, Tamara does sounds like she has a interesting life, to say the least.

  2. Hey, I looked this series up, and see that books 2 and 3 are available on Kindle, but book 1 seems to be out of print and only available as used paperbacks? Is book 1 available anywhere for e-books? I like superhero stories…

    • Or is “Karis” the first book with a new name and I’m just an idiot?

      • No, you’re not an idiot. I originally published “Karis” under the title “My Life as a Supehero,” back in 2004. After getting publishing rights back, I revamped the story changed some things (such as adding smart phones and social media that simply didn’t exist when first published) and republished as an independent author.

  3. Thanks for sharing this! I love the idea of hanging out in my world with my character’s for awhile. (I’ll be emailing to see about signing up as soon as I have an exact release date for my sequel!) Good luck with the challenge and your NaNoWriMo project!

  4. LOL Cool! Okay, I have these on my wishlist, too. Kriss is gonna kill me trying to read all the awesome stuff she finds!

  5. I adore Kenny, what a sweetie!

  6. I could imagine my dog having this conversation…but it would all have been about the treat…would love to read more dog-human conversations 🙂
