Forget about chasing the dragon, I do it with books.. Musing Mondays

Musing Mondays {January 14}

Musing Mondays is a weekly event hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Each week MizB asks a book related question and bloggers answer with their thoughts about the given topic.

This Week’s Muse Asks…

  • Describe one of your reading habits.
  • Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
  • Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it. #amreading

HAH! Yes chasing the dragon, I went there! I swear reading is an addiction, a habit. Let’s face it when I cannot shop, I read, when I am to lazy to read or bother to go online to shop, I make food or eat, when I am not doing that I go all OCD and crochet… its a cycle, at least I am not knocking them back or actually chasing the dragon, that would be bad.. drugs are bad.. books are cool.. just saying.. books are cool. OK but back to today’s musing… well let’s see, this was sort of asked back in November, as in the last book I checked out or bought.. new twist or spin..

  1. Habits, two places, my corner of the couch, or my bed. And under my mink blanket or I cannot read properly. I read a minimum of four books at a time, to keep up with my schedule but I did this before I was blogging. I did it because I want to read everything. I also will buy a whole series finished and read it from book one to book six, bam! I like it that way, same way I watch TV shows on Netflix!
  2. I grabbed Juliet Blackwell’s series she wrote under the pen name Hailey LindAnnie Kincaid Mysteries (I love my Cozies!) The new James Rollins The Blood Gospel: The Order of the Sanguines Series, a completely new series and am so excited. These are for me. I am also doing a #26acts and have been randomly hitting folks  wish lists on Amazon. I bought Ann Charles’s first in her Deadwood series to three people and grabbed gift certificates for books 99¢ so I can give them to others:
    • The Dohmestics
    • The Griffin Cryer
    • The Beggar King: A Hangman’s Daughter
    • Two Moons of Sera (Vol. 4 of 4)
    • Taking the Knife (Botanicaust)
  3. These are the five books I am reading and two are almost done (Black Moon and Man vs Cat), two are for my own pleasure (Kraken and Trapped) and one I have a review due in two weeks so am still around 12% (Solomon’s Throne). There are more I have invested time in,  but I am only listing ones I actively have read on in the last four days and which I have read more than 10% of.
KrakenKraken Black Moon (Paige Tailor Series, #1)Black Moon Solomon's ThroneSolomon’s Throne
Man vs CatMan vs Cat Trapped (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #5) Trapped

I can’t just eat read one at a time! I have to many I need to be reading, want to be reading, and am forcing my way through.. do you have a Kindle free habit like mine? Plus I swear I am like a magpie.. oh look SHINY another book MUST have!

  1. I can’t read more than one book at a time. I get too confused on what’s going on in what book.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  2. Reading is an addiction! I swear, when I am not reading, I’m looking up books or blogging about books or adding books to my wishlists. LOL
thanks for stopping by my blog!

  3. I am more of a one book woman. I usually read one book at a time. I love freebie books too.

    Thanks for the visit today.

  4. Chasing the dragon haha reading IS an addiction. I like the idea of a mink blanket..now i want one. Darn it..lol. I will usually have one maybe two books going when I read but I admire those like you who can do more than that at a time. Thank you for stopping by Fire & Ice today 🙂

  5. I read usually somewhere between 4 and 6 books at a time. Rarely I will have just one on the go. Here’s one of 5 I am reading this week: http://daystarz.wordpress.com/2013/01/14/musing-monday/

  6. I’m also unable to read more than one book at once, with the possible exception of two very different books – one fiction and one non-fiction, for example 🙂
