 #BlogFlash2012 day 8: Relaxing

Relaxing at our house means….

No computers, no phones.. nothing but one activity we all choose. This was taken a few years back, the twins are now 12 and 13 (Irish Twins whom we all still call the babies since they are the youngest of my five kids). No video games nothing. We had just finished playing cards and instead of plugging in the kids voted to watch a movie together. SCORE one for family time! It is so hard to relax these days, to stop checking your phone, texting, emailing… we all have to constantly be plugged-in!

What do you do to Relax? What is your idea of relaxing?

#BlogFlash2012: 30 Days, 30 Prompts, 30 Posts

#BlogFlash2012 Challenge 30 days, 30 prompts, 30 posts. Every day there will be a different image/word prompt to inspire your writing, which could be anything from flash fiction to a real life anecdote.

I have chosen to do the majority as Haiku responses and 10×10 poems. I will spend no more than 15 minutes on either. (The 10×10 poems -10 minutes of writing with 5 minutes of editing, and  the Haiku’s done in under 5 minutes. This is my own personal challenge).

Follow on Twitter with #BlogFlash2012 – There’s also a Facebook page so you can follow along and swap links!

Are you taking part in #blogflash2012? Where can I find yours? Please feel free to leave your link in the comments, I would LOVE to hook up and find out what everyone else is writing, doing and saying for the next 30 days!

  1. Great post! It is crazy to stay connected as much as we all do. You know it is bad when the 3 year old wants to play on the laptop, her LeapPad, or play Angry Birds on my phone. She can find her shows on Netflix by herself and work her daddy’s iPad. Scary stuff! It is good to disconnect for a while 🙂
    Show me some love!

  2. The best kind of relaxing – togetherness!! Love the photo!! 🙂

  3. Is it wrong to wish for rainy days? I used to when my boy was small as snuggling on the sofa, watching a DVD was just the best! A gorgeous Haiku. xx

  4. You have some fine looking children
