Midnight Special! I don’t have a mailbox, but I do have a porch!

AND TODAY… my man in a FedEx van brought me this PRETTY box from Amazon. It is the first hardback book that was not for school .. that was just for FUN .. in a LONG time. I am just drooling and so EXCITED to read it! I have so many books to read for obligations and that I promised and THAT I WANT to read, but this one? this one was truly one that I needed to be a “waiting on” book if I had been doing the meme than.

The only reason I even knew about was because of great book bloggers like April (over at My Shelf Confessions) teased me on Valentines day  about this book. It grabbed my attention first with the cover. When I looked it up over at Goodreads and Amazon I was NEEDING to read the book. Most of you already know that I am a complete push over for a few things… bacon … zombies …. and postapocalyptic books (dystopian and pandemic fall hard into this category) People in my life up here in Alaska also know that I will tell you to “SHUT THE FRAK UP” when BSG is on. (if you are confused than you do not need to know what I am talking about) …

Then end of the rambling story is .. here I sit past midnight after spending all day bathing, doing laundry and cooking at my friends (go read her cool blog) house in North Pole Alaska…. she has running water! So for me to be THIS excited after having that all day is truly a measure of just how much I wanted this book.

I have such a busy couple of weeks starting this Saturday here with a HUGE Zombie Swag giveaway and with my reviews, my recipes, I may not even be able to start it………. wait unless I sneak quietly upstairs while the ManBeast plays Mass Effect .. accidentally leaving my Kindle downstairs… being forced to crack open the fresh… glued.. smelling so sweet… HARD COVER beautifully covered book and reading because…. OH WAIT I have not told you WHAT was in the box right?

Partials(Partials #1)

by Dan Wells (Goodreads Author)
 4.09  ·   rating details  ·  450 ratings  ·  236 reviews
Humanity is all but extinguished after a war with partials–engineered organic beings identical to humans–has decimated the world’s population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island. The threat of the partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to the disease in over a decade. Humanity’s time is running out.
So now I believe I will sneak upstairs with my Iced Tea and abandon the Kindle for this beautiful smelling beauty and lose myself to the world that Mr. Wells, my FedEx man in his cute shorts (yes even at this tempurtare in Alaska they were shorts) and those folks at Amazon have provided for me! Till Tommorow! AND KEEP WATCH, I have KILLER ZOMBIE SWAG for GIVING AWAY headed here this weekend..

If I had to describe the swag  in two words it would be Zombies and Polygamists….

    • OH MAN I fell asleep reading it so I did not get that far in, but I had WILD dreams! I cannot believe what an AWESOME idea this is! My fiance is playing Mass Effect right now so there is this whole thing called Genophage that caused a genetic defect and it was a biological weapon by another race of aliens. SORT of like it but the point of this is that I mentioned this to my fiance and he said, read it to me it sounds like something I would like! (he never is interested in my books!) SO, YES IT IS SO pretty in hard back!

  2. Haha bummer you fell asleep but that just means you have more time to enjoy the book and make it last! That rocks your fiance is interested too! WOOHOO! 😀 I hope it’s something you can enjoy together – and hopefully he’ll be hooked enough to want the next book in the series too hhehehe 😀
