I have been really sick this week, and have not even had the energy to do much other than click, read, chat a bit.. pout.. I was infected by the evil ManBeast with this Man-Cold. Women do not do well with Man-Colds. JUST when I think I am better WHAM, so here I lay about bed drinking tea and eating soup. Not the wonderful home made soup, just from a package where I can throw in an egg and be done with it, because I have no energy to cook. The ManBeast did bring home WonTon soup ..ONCE, it was lovely and it chased away the fever a bit. Oh and he even fetched me ice tea and lemonade  But I whine and since I cannot eat much cheese without feeling particularly icky at the moment, I need to stop. (giggling.. owww)

The series I loved at 12 .. The first step in recovery is to admit you have a problem…

Stephen King Books

Hello my name is Kriss and I read… no.. not ready yet, yes I can admit  I have a problem, the problem is I am haunted by a series of books I loved when I was 12. (I will get there I promise) My mother let me read them, so I guess we can blame here right? Of course young adult horror books were obviously more healthy than those “…horrific psychologically damaging books that awful Stephen King writes! End of the world? Pigs Blood? Kristine Louise, NO! I will not buy The Shining! Here read this nice one by Judy Blume!” (swallowing back the bile)

Wait, before I tell you, I have to finish the tale. I need to work up to this because, frankly I am horrified I loved these and still feel the need to pick them back up when I see them in the pile at Value Village.. maybe, ohh they are only a quarter for each… *tapping toe*… *chewing fingernail* … no.. NO! I will resist. OK Here, is my long winded  tale of how the addiction began…

‘Days with the Undead’ by Julianne Snow – review

Posted by on Mar 28, 2012 in Authors, Books, Reviews, Zombies | 4 comments

One of the first publications out of Sirens Call Publications which as of the revamping of this review has since published some amazing pieces, anthologies and shorts. They are extremely professional and highly passionate about their work, especially to bring back the shadows and cobwebs on our ereaders and bookshelves (smiling innocently). I highly urge you if you are looking for a good read, entertaining newsletter and a staff of professionals anyone would be proud working with.

Musing Mondays {March 26}

Musing Mondays is a weekly event hosted by MizB at Should Be ReadingEach week MizB asks a book related question and bloggers answer with their thoughts about the given topic.

This week’s musing asks…

Have you ever found a book out of the blue, read it, and then had it be surprisingly good — one that stuck with you for years? If so, what book was it?

This was a difficult one. I have been reading on my own since I was 3-years old. I have memories of my mother reading me to sleep with Where the Wild Things Are. I remember the day I read on my own for the first time, with the help I probably knew most of it by heart. The hours and days spent dreaming about reigning over my own tribe of monsters at my beck and call. (This probably is the source of my imaginary friend my own personal George my Mutant Polar Bear).  I think Wild Things planted the seed of my love for horror and fantasy.
