Book Reviews, Author Features, Recipes & Home of Fourth-Wall Fridays

I just love me some free books!

I have been getting a newsletter delivered daily that gives me groupings of free Kindle books (the info is at the bottom of the post on where to go to get yours). As an author you can arrange, for a fee of course, to have Amazon list your book for free! This is a great tool for authors to get their ratings up on Amazon, and it is great for readers on a budget like me. So a couple of friends of mine have decided  to do just that and below are their books. I had previously bought one and the author gave me a copy for review for the other so I missed getting both for free! But because I am a sucker for trying to get gift certificates for more books at Amazon (by the way this year alone I have won four contests and $275 dollars for my book spending habits). They are Kindle mobi books so you can read them for free on your Kindle or on your Kindle app, which I have been doing for a couple of years on my iPhone till Geoff got me a Kindle for our anniversary! Now I have so many books it is crazy! Anyway these two books are gems, and I promise NO DRAGONS in the second book!

Pick up these two eBooks for free…

Scare easily? Are you often frightened out of your sleep? Does the mere mention of ghosts prickle your skin? These seven authors’ imaginations are fired up by the scariness of the unknown. Find a comfy spot, sit back and enjoy nine tales to tickle your taste for terror.

12-year-old Fezariu thought his mother died when he was little, but when his beloved stepfather dies the boy discovers she is alive and well – and working at the most famous brothel in all of Elenchera. When she cruelly rejects him it’s more than he can bear, and he runs away to join a band of ruthless soldiers for hire. The Merelax Mercenaries will fight for anyone who can pay them, no matter the justice of the cause.

Fezariu grows up among the soldiers and becomes one of them. He thinks his time with the mercenaries has hardened him. But a campaign in his old home town pushes him too far, and he discovers what really happened to his mother. Maybe there are some things money shouldn’t buy… and maybe it’s time Fezariu took his revenge.

Also for those that love a good book and are on budgets like me, I found the BEST website, but get ready because you are going to not be able to resist downloading books on a daily basis. These guys do my work for me and they list all the books offered on Amazon that day for free (not just for Prime members but actually free).

Sign up at Free Kindle Books newsletter on eReader Reader News and all you do is click click click away! Check to make sure they are free, sometimes you miss the deadline but for the most part I have found these guys are VERY accurate and only have had one book in the last week that I missed being free. The other great thing it is well-rounded in genre. eReader News consistently has  children’s and YA book daily, as well as straight fictional literature and the best part for me? COOKBOOKS (squealing just a little)!
